eMindful CEO Kelley McCabe To Present at UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center Mindfulness and Well-Being at Work Conference Draws Mindfulness, Industry Leaders

Berkeley, CA – Nov. 12, 2015—eMindful, the provider of live, online mindfulness programs based upon rigorous research, will share lessons learned from more than 100 employer mindfulness programs at this year’s Mindfulness and Well-Being at Work conference.

To be held Nov. 13 – 14 at UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center, the conference draws leading employers from around the country—such as Wells Fargo, Nestle, and The Mayo Clinic—interested in the practical aspects of improving mindfulness and resilience in today’s workforce. The event is co-produced with Mindful, the leading mindfulness publisher and producer.

“The goal of our conference is to go beyond just making the case for mindfulness at work and instead explore what’s working and why, covering the state-of-the-art for evidence-based programs and successful implementation,” said Jason Marsh, editor in chief and director of programs for the Greater Good Science Center. “The program will bring together workplace leaders, researchers, and mindfulness teachers to discuss their successes—and challenges—in cultivating mindfulness within themselves, for individual employees, and across an organization.

“Given eMindful’s global reach in bringing its programs to employers, we were naturally interested in having the company’s lessons shared among our participating employers.”

On Friday morning Nov. 13th eMindful CEO Kelley McCabe will present “A View From the Front Lines: 10 Lessons Learned From 100+ Employer Mindfulness Implementations.” The presentation leverages outcomes research from the company’s stress and resiliency programs, as well as its metabolic health and weight management courses, over more than four years.

Among the findings is a 29 percent reduction in perceived stress using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), developed at Carnegie Mellon University. Workplace productivity showed a significant improvement as well, with employees reducing unproductive time at work by an average of 47 minutes per week. Sleep habits also improved, with a 20.3 percent improvement in perceived sleep quality, as measured by the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index.
