Joel Kahn, MD, joins industry leading mindfulness company after positions

Vero Beach, FL – March 12, 2015—eMindful, the provider of mindfulness-based corporate wellness programs, has begun the post-funding expansion of its executive team with the recent addition of Joel Kahn, MD. Kahn, a veteran of several high-growth health care companies, has assumed the position of chief medical and operating officer.
Dr. Kahn is a respected leader in the health and technology sector with a well-rounded background in large and small companies. In his new role he has responsibility for continuing the scalable development of eMindful’s global course offerings and support for the company’s large insurance and employer clients. He also will play a leading role on key product and research initiatives.
Prior to eMindful Dr. Kahn served as executive vice-president and CIO of WorldCare International Inc. where he oversaw all telemedicine operations, business development, and strategic planning. He has also held positions as President of the WorldCare Global Health Plan Ltd., an innovative global insurance program.
Earlier Dr. Kahn served as executive vice-president, chief medical officer and a founding member of InteliHealth, a two-time Webby award winning health portal that was a joint venture of Aetna – U.S. Health and Johns Hopkins Medicine. He also served as General Manager of allHealth.com and was head of product development for Healthcare Data Interchange Corp., a subsidiary of U.S. Healthcare. Dr. Kahn graduated from Wesleyan University, received his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College and did a fellowship in Medical Informatics at Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard University.
Late last year, a prominent investor group provided growth capital to eMindful to expand the company’s executive team and its sales and marketing organizations. Investors included Bridge Builders Collaborative, whose mission is to fund and support the visions of social entrepreneurs who have scalable business models for applications, practices, products and tools that build bridges for mind-training and its impact on peoples’ lives.
