Self-Insurance Industry Executive Nigel Wallbank Joins eMindful Management Team
Past President of SIIA joins evidence-based mind-body wellness company
VERO BEACH, Fla., Dec. 6, 2011 — Following the addition of two managed health care leaders to its board, eMindful has added another prominent industry executive to its team with Nigel Wallbank joining to run the company’s sales organization.
Wallbank is the present Chairman of the Board of the Self Insured Education Foundation and past President and Chairman of the Board of the Self-Insurance Institute of America (SIIA). He has served for the past two years as Executive Vice President of Cevian Intermediaries, LLC, a privately owned reinsurer.
In 1986, Wallbank co-founded Strategic Health Development Corp., a risk management and health care management company providing medical malpractice, workers compensation, and property & casualty insurance services, as well as a nationwide organ transplant network. He sold the business in 2008 to Prodigy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of J.P. Morgan Chase at the time.
He also serves as an officer on the board of directors of Global Medical Conexions, which provides international-standard medical care at facilities outside of the U.S. at considerable cost savings.
“Nigel brings further depth and expertise to our growing team,” said eMindful chief executive officer Kelley McCabe Ruff. “Nigel’s joining eMindful is further validation of our demonstrated approach to health cost containment, and the value of a healthier, more productive work force that our unique mind-body wellness programs bring to employers.”
eMindful recently announced the addition of Jorge Rico, managing director at MBF Healthcare Partners, and Hyman R. Kahn, M.D., a former executive with U.S. Healthcare, to its board of directors.
