Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Approaches for Depression Relapse Prevention (MBCT) Course Information
What is MBCT?
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Approaches (MBCT) for depression relapse prevention is an eight-week mind-body approach created specifically for people who have had multiple episodes of depression. MBCT provides an introductory course in mindfulness meditation which has been shown to be effective in mitigating relapses in depressive episodes in people who have experienced two or more such events. In this interactive workshop, participants learn to observe, modify and detach from negative thinking patterns which lead to anxiety, depression, anger and other painful emotions. As a result, they spend less time on autopilot and become more fully alive in the present moment.
