Needs Assessment:
With the emphasis on preventative medicine and the research which indicates that stress has a significant impact on physical health and well-being, healthcare professionals are looking for ways to help themselves and their patients reduce stress levels and engage in healthier lifestyles thereby increasing their own, as well as their patients, overall wellness. In particular, cognitive-behavioral strategies are needed to mitigate depression relapse.
Target Audience: Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Psychologists
Educational Objectives:
I. Recognizing the concepts of mindfulness
II. Integrating the connection between, and employing the skills of, mindfulness and stress reduction as well as behavioral strategies necessary to mitigate depression relapse
III. Integrating the connection between, and employing the skills of, mindfulness, stress reduction, attention, and health
Method of Participation: This online, interactive learning experience will facilitate the skills of mindfulness practice, self-awareness, and clear communication.
